Help from East Lothian Women's Aid

Page 1 | Page 2 | Page 3

East Lothian Women’s Aid offers confidential information, support and a safe place to stay to women and children affected by domestic abuse.

If you want to talk about what is happening, discuss any fears or anxieties, or need help to look at your options, you can speak to a worker by phone or meet up with them. You can tell them as much or as little as you like.

Women’s Aid will not tell you what to do but will give you information and support so that you keep yourself and any children as safe as possible. You do not have to leave an abusive partner or live in a Women’s Aid refuge to get support from Women’s Aid. Women’s Aid has worked with abused women for over 30 years and knows that, for many women, these are not the only, or even the best, options.

Whatever has happened to you and whatever you decide to do, Women’s Aid will not judge you or blame you. They will believe what you say. You can use its services as often or as little as you choose.

East Lothian Women’s Aid is part of the national network of groups affiliated to Scottish Women’s Aid. This means that it complies with a national code of practice. It also means that if you need to get away from East Lothian, Women’s Aid can link you into support in other areas.
